The rains are attracted to forest trees. Knowing this, Hawaiians hewed only the trees that were needed.

Sustainable Development

When we buy goods from companies who mine on land or harvest from the ocean, we look for businesses whose values align with ours. We look for companies who make every effort to be as minimally invasive as possible, whose methods donʻt disrupt existing habitats. We look for companies conscious in the mining process to avoid pollution that could lead to blockages in local water sources and potentially harm marine life. We choose to work with businesses who minimize their impact on the area by helping to restore and replant native trees and plants after mining the land. Doing this helps to preserve the environment and leave it in a better condition than when it was found.

Responsible Manufacturing

Manufacturing gemstones, farming, and pearl harvesting is an intensive job. One can only imagine the long hours and hard work employees of the trade endure. We are grateful for the incredible skill, dedication, and expertise of the craftsmen in the pearl and gemstone industry.  Their hard work and commitment to excellence truly make a difference, and we at Mai Lani, acknowledge their work.
